Florida Auto Accident Rules, Laws & Chiropractic Care
We accept PIP cases directly and will help you understand the next steps. Coverage and eligibility depend on your policy and timely evaluation. Florida has a 14 day rule:
This means that whoever is a victim of a car accident must be checked within a 14 day period to be evaluated to assess severity of said injuries to analyze if ongoing care is to be recommended. If you have been to a hospital after an accident this would count as being seen within the 14 day rule.
Common Injuries After an Auto Accident
Whiplash & Neck Pain: Sudden force from a collision can strain muscles, ligaments, and joints in the neck.
Back Pain: The impact can cause disc injuries, sprains, or muscle spasms in the lower or mid-back.
Headaches: Often related to whiplash, tension, or concussion.
Shoulder, Arm, or Leg Pain: From seatbelt trauma or bracing during impact.
Soft Tissue Injuries: Bruising, strains, or sprains throughout the body.
Concussion/Mild Traumatic Brain Injury: Even without hitting your head, the force of impact can cause brain injury.

FAQ section:
“Do I need a referral?”
“What if pain started days after the accident?”
This is a normal response with people in an accident, sometimes after 3-5 days is when pain can occur, with adrenaline and other natural body chemicals kicking in post trauma it can temporarily block pain signals.
“Can you help if I already went to the ER?”
Yes, if you’ve been to the ER in Florida’s 14 day rule, this counts as being seen and can continue ongoing care/therapy with our office to treat any ongoing pains that may be occurring after being checked at the hospital.
“What should I bring to my appointment?”
Driver’s license
Auto insurance info (PIP)
Accident date + location
Any ER/urgent care paperwork (if applicable)
These will help ensure your visit goes a little smoother as well as get the correct info we need in regards to dealing with insurance or getting records in a timely manner.
“Do you work with attorneys/claims?”
Yes we work with attorneys locally and those licensed in Florida to help you with your claims, we recommend if you have an attorney already, to bring their information to the first visit for easier communication.
